It would be easy to sit back and feel sorry for myself or allow myself to drown in my grief but I refuse to do that. Instead, I choose to paint, something that I have not done a lot of this year. I choose to continue to push no matter what.
There are people around me that have no idea how much their kind gestures have meant to me. Words of encouragement from members of Etsy Project Embrace and of The Etsy Twitter Team. A compliment or purchase of my art. Including me in treasuries. An unexpected present or card in the mail. Someone bringing over dinner...little things can go a long way.
With Breast Cancer Awareness month upon us, this painting is dedicated to my maternal grandmother and countless others who have lost their battles with Breast Cancer. Everyone involved with Etsy Project Embrace. My friends on The Etsy Twitter Team. Everyone that took the time to do something nice, not only for me but for anyone. The survivors, friends, family and everyone that continues to PUSH no matter how insurmountable the obstacles seem...until there's a cure for all types of cancer.
You can find this painting for sale in my Etsy shop with a portion of the proceeds being donated to support Breast Cancer Initiatives. Have a great day everybody, thanks for stopping by.

My darling friend, You bring tears to my eyes. You and Rose are beautiful people who deserve nothing but the best in life - and to have suffered such intense losses is more than unfair. Although this past year has been almost unbearable, I hope that you are able to find some blessings in these tragedies. I am so glad that you are able to express yourself through your art. Sending you many hugs and much love, Lois
It's easy to gibe encouraging words to people who the the generosity of spirit and humanity that you do. I hope next year brings you fewer terrible things to deal with but I know whatever happens, you will carry on with grace and aplomb.
Sending you and Rose huge hugs and strength. Thanks for telling your story and I only hope you gain strength from the telling.
Oh dear, I am so sorry to hear all of your sad news. *hugs* Your painting is beautiful. My paternal grandmother lost her battle when I was only in 3rd grade, but my mom has been a survivor for more than 15 years so there is overflowing hope for your friends that have been diagnosed! I have also been blogging this week about how uplifting it is to see so many Etsyians supporting breast cancer awareness.
